About Northland Snow & Ice management

Specialized snow and ice management for homes and businesses in Fairport, NY and select parts of Webster, NY built on mechanical precision, localized route density, and absolute transparency.

100% Dedicated to Winter Reliability

Most plow services are operated as seasonal side businesses by summer landscaping companies. At Northland Snow, we view winter management as a year-round, specialized discipline for residential driveways and commercial properties alike.

While traditional operators pivot to summer lawn care, our team spends the warm months analyzing route density, servicing our specialized tractor fleet, and refining storm-response logistics.

When Rochester winter arrives, our entire operation, with up to 20 employees during the season, is focused on keeping driveways, lots, and walkways safe, open, and accessible.

A Division of Expertise: Systems & Field Operations

Delivering consistent service during intense lake-effect storms — for a residential driveway or a multi-acre commercial lot — requires a clear operational structure:

Greg Monrad

Founder/Sales Manager

Greg founded Northland Snow & Ice Management and has been involved in the snow industry since 2018. He oversees sales, customer relations, strategy, and business development.

During the offseason, Greg works as a commercial insurance broker, bringing a strong background in risk management, operations, and technology to the company.

Lucas Parkison

Shop/Operations Manager

Lucas oversees day-to-day snow operations and is responsible for equipment modifications, repairs, dispatching, employee training, and overall field management. His hands-on experience and continuous equipment improvements help keep Northland operating efficiently throughout the winter season.

Justin Reidel

Office Manager

Justin manages bookkeeping, quoting, administrative operations, and the integration of new technology throughout the company. He works behind the scenes to streamline processes, improve communication, and ensure that Northland continues to deliver a smooth experience for both customers and employees.

From a High School Side Hustle to a Regional Snow Authority

Northland Snow started in 2018 with one truck, one high schooler, and four clients. Founder Greg Monrad grew that into a business with over 500 customers served, backed by a 5.0-star Google rating, and a growing commercial base across Fairport, Brighton, Webster, and Victor.

Greg's other career gave Northland an unusual edge. As a commercial insurance broker, he spent years insuring the properties other agencies turned away — the tough, high-claim risks nobody wanted to touch. He brought that same mentality to snow removal: taking on the tight driveways, awkward commercial lots, and nowhere-to-put-the-snow properties that traditional operators pass on.

That growth and approach caught the attention of the Rochester Business Journal, which featured Northland Snow & Ice Management in August 2026 for integrating tech into Rochester-area snow removal.

Trained, Certified, and Fully Insured

Northland Snow holds the Certified Snow Professional (CSP) designation from the Snow & Ice Management Association, and our operators complete official Kubota equipment training along with Aurora Academy's route management and storm operations training. We carry full general liability, commercial auto, and workers' compensation coverage — protecting both your property and our team.

Tech-Driven Logistics & Media Recognition

Featured in the Rochester Business Journal for integrating tech into Rochester-area snow removal, Northland Snow treats snow removal as a precision logistics operation rather than brute-force labor — a standard that applies whether we're clearing a driveway or a commercial parking lot.

  • Live Tracking, Down to the Second: Customers get a real-time link showing their tractor's exact location as it approaches, so there's no wondering and no missed chance to move a car before we arrive.

  • Geocoded Property Mapping: Every property is staked and mapped for hazards before the season starts — sprinkler heads, manhole covers, light posts, low branches, curb obstructions. Operators see an aerial and street view of each site before they ever pull in, even in pre-dawn conditions.

  • Dynamic Route Optimization: Our fleet is reassigned in real time as routes finish, so no property — residential or commercial — waits longer than it has to during a storm.

  • Instant Feedback Loop: The moment service is complete, clients get a link to flag anything, so every pass gets sharper.

The Tractor Advantage: Engineering Meets Property Care

Traditional snow plowing relies on brute force: a heavy pickup truck pushing a rigid metal blade to shove hundreds of pounds of snow across a property. Northland utilizes agricultural tractors equipped with rear-mounted, inverted snow blowers. This shift from pushing snow to mechanical displacement changes how your property is protected all winter long.

  • Pavement & Hardscape Protection: Heavy steel plow blades scrape directly across pavement, leaving scratch marks, stripping sealcoat, and chipping pavers. Our tractors ride on non-marring poly-edged skids that glide above the surface, clearing snow completely without damaging driveways or lots.

  • Lawn & Curb Integrity: Traditional plows push snow into heavy banks that tear up turf and gouge curbs. Our tractor blowers disperse snow evenly into adjacent areas without applying any pushing force to property edges.

  • Unlimited Storm Capacity: During major Rochester blizzards, plow trucks quickly run out of room to stack snow. Our blower units digest deep snow and heavy city-plow slush effortlessly, maintaining full width and access regardless of accumulation.
